Broken sword is a series of point and click games that follows the adventures of Idaho-born George Stobbart and the French Nico Collard. Their advetures are detective stories that contains a lot of history and mythology. The basis for the series is set in the first game where George Stobbart meets Nico Collard while exploring a bombing in Paris. In the opening of the game we get to see the a clown setting the bomb and the explosion. The Story in the first game revolve a lot around knights Templar (As do most of the other games) and their secret actions around the world. As the game series develop so does the relationship of the two heroes. Sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse.
The first two games are 2d while the second two games are 3d. The Games are developed by Revolution software and has since their first release been made available on a lot of platforms. Broken sword games are now available on Game Boy Advance, iOS, Mac OS, Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, Mobile Phone, Nintendo DS, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, Wii, Xbox and of course on PC where it all began.

Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars
This was the first game in the series . It was released on September 30, 1996 and published by Virgin Interactive Entertainment world wide. It follows our two heroes as they solve a knights Templar centered mystery involving conspiracies, cults and murder. To solve the mystery the two heroes have to travel all over the world. They game was appreciated by critics and a commercial success. A remake of the game was released for Nintendo DS and Wii in 2009. The remake, called “directors cut” was made by UBI soft and contained story elements not on the original game.
Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror
The second game was released a year after the first one in 1997. This game is the only one of the Broken Sword games that are not centered around the night Templar. This one is instead built around a Mayan god. The two heroes are now romantically involved and the game starts with Nico Gollard being kidnapped forcing George Stobbart to try to solve the mystery of her kidnapping. A remastered version of this game for Apple iOS was announced in late 2010
Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon
The third installment in the series was release in 3D in 2003. The two heroes are no longer together but meet up once again as they unknowingly start to explore the same mystery. The game play and game mechanics in this game is rather different from the other installments in the series.
Broken Sword: The Angel of Death
The fourth broken sword game focus on George Stobbart. He has lost his job and is generally down. When he is at an all time low he is flung into a new mystery by a new woman who enters his life, Anna Maria. The game was released in 2006 and is a 3D point and click game.
